These are the terms you agree to by using IncomeRPG. The most important one is the first: this is a tracking and entertainment product, not financial advice.

Not financial advice. IncomeRPG shows you information about a portfolio you already own, and turns it into a game. We are not registered financial advisers, brokers or dealers. Nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. Every projection is a model based on assumptions you choose, not a prediction. Investing carries risk, including loss of the money you put in. Decisions about your money are yours alone. When you become Premium the app asks you to acknowledge this once, in its setup, before it opens.

1. The service

IncomeRPG reads your investment accounts, with your permission and on a read-only basis, and presents your holdings, distributions and progress as a game. It does not hold your money, execute trades, or interact with your broker beyond reading.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure. One account is for one person.

3. Subscription and payment

Some features require Premium, billed through Stripe at $7.99 USD per month (monthly), $59.99 USD per year (yearly) or $48.99 USD per year (Founder) on the website, or billed through Apple in the IncomeRPG iPhone app. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled.

Cancel any time. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
Founder pricing. Where a plan is described as price-locked, the rate you subscribed at will not rise for as long as that subscription remains continuously active. If it lapses or is cancelled, re-subscribing is at whatever price is current then. This is a promise about the price only, not about which features are included.
No free trial is offered. Free use covers the Welcome page and four tools — the ETF Explorer and Fund Compare in full, Test Contributions and the Retirement Calculator to try.
Paid trial. Where a trial is offered on the website, it costs $1.99 USD for 3 days. When it ends, the plan it was offered with begins and renews automatically unless you cancel before then. The trial fee is a separate charge and is not credited against that plan.
Bought in the iPhone app. A subscription bought in the IncomeRPG app is sold and billed by Apple, through your Apple ID, at the price the App Store shows you in your own currency. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. It renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before then. You manage or cancel it, and ask for any refund, in your Apple ID's subscription settings: we cannot cancel or refund an App Store purchase for you, and deleting your IncomeRPG account does not cancel it.
Website prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply where you live.

4. Accuracy, and its limits

The figures shown come from your brokerage and from public market data. We take care to be honest about what we can and cannot know — where a number cannot be verified, the app refuses to show it rather than estimating. Even so, data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and you should treat your broker's own statements as authoritative. Do not rely on IncomeRPG for tax filing.

5. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service, use it unlawfully, or resell it. We may suspend accounts that do.

Community rules — your profile and Friends

Premium members have a username and can add a profile photo, social handles and a hero card that their friends can see — including which funds they hold. Money figures on the card (portfolio value, monthly income and each fund’s dollar figures) are shown to all of a member’s friends by default, including the Founder, and each member can narrow that to chosen friends or to no one in Edit profile → Privacy. Friends can also see a member's recent trades (the date, the fund, and whether it was bought, sold or reinvested), with units and amounts under the same Privacy setting, and Premium members can send their friends private messages. Everything you put there must follow these rules, which you agree to in the app before you can add a friend or a photo:

Zero tolerance for hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent or illegal content, impersonation, spam or scams — in photos, usernames, links or messages.
Report and block. Every card and every message you receive can be reported, and every report is reviewed within 24 hours. You can block any member at any time; they leave your lists, cannot find you and cannot message you.
Enforcement. Content that breaks these rules is removed, and the account that posted it can be suspended or permanently banned. A ban also cancels that account's subscription, so it is not charged again.

6. Intellectual property

The IncomeRPG name, artwork and software are ours or our licensors'. Some artwork is used under open licences that require attribution — see Credits. Brokerage names and logos are the trademarks of their owners and are shown only to indicate which services can be connected; their appearance does not imply any partnership or endorsement.

7. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for investment losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes to the service

We improve IncomeRPG often. Features may change or be removed, and bugs can happen. We recommend using the in-app save controls if you play across more than one device.

9. Ending it

You may stop and delete your account at any time from ⚙️ Game Settings → Account. We may end or suspend service for breach of these terms, or if we discontinue the product — in which case we will give reasonable notice and refund any unused portion of a prepaid period.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any consumer rights you have where you live.
